Foggy Isle Film Festival
Foggy Isle is the new macabre-themed film festival taking place on 26 September 2019, in Victoria BC. Launched by filmmaker Ashley Good, Foggy Isle’s mission is to showcase short films that celebrate all that is weird, delightfully macabre, and darkly hilarious.
This year’s line-up features an assortment of short films from around the world, ranging from the eye opening, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, filmed in Iraq, to the beautifully shot PROCESSION, filmed in Ireland, as well THE BEE, a superhero short from California. Ashley Good launched Foggy Isle Film Festival to highlight underdog films that don’t really fit into other festival line-ups. “Foggy Isle is less about a genre and more about a tone… This year’s line-up is about showing that the world isn’t always rainbows and sunshine, but that there can be humour and beauty in the shadows. Sometimes when things feel bleak, people don’t want to be told “it’ll be alright” – they want to watch a film that satirizes and mocks the thing that upsets them. Or sometimes they want to watch a film that takes a problem and makes it even darker. That’s what Foggy Isle Film Festival is about.”
Ticket to Foggy Isle Film Festival are available exclusively through Eventbrite. Early bird tickets are available for $12 until 1 September 2019.
